Friday June 22 Watson Lake

Drove from our campsite west of Fort Nelson starting around 7:30 this morning.  The start of the day was kind of rainy and drizzle off and on.  Cool drive thru a couple of Provisional Parks (Stone Mountain and Muncho).  Speeds were way down as the road was winding and up and down the whole way until about noon.   Basically followed some rivers most of the way.  We just took our time and stopped a lot as we went.  In the afternoon we left this park area and the roads opened up.  This last part of the drive was where we were able to see most of the wildlife on this trip so far.  Bears, deer and bison mostly.   Most of the traffic (not much) that we saw were other RV's.   Temps in the morning were low 60's with the rain and got into the low 70's in the afternoon when the sun came out.

Camping at an RV park tonight in Watson Lake.  Trapped between 2 big buses.  Oh well..   But we needed Internet tonight to get some reservations in.  Tomorrow night we will probably boondock (camping without any services such as water, elec, or sewer) along the way near Whitehorse.

Stop for lunch along the Trout River - water was really moving

Grizzly bear along our ride.

Found this place that would have been great to camp near mile 550 - Liard River.
Timing was off, so we had to move on.  Overlook of the river.
